Samples were shortened to five seconds, converted to mono at 32 kHz and encoded as MP3 at 80 kbps to keep the browser instrument bank small. The original filenames and root MIDI pitches are recorded in manifest.json. Piano pitch mapping comes from the library's Keys/Upright Piano/MappingChart.txt.

Only piano, solo violin (used for the strings voice), and flute use recordings in this edition. Other instruments use the local synthesizer. Notes far outside the sample range also use synthesis. These are sketching instruments, with one velocity layer and sparse pitch coverage; they do not emulate a full orchestral sample library.
